A spectacular tribute to Queen and Freddie Mercury.
A great show, introduced by the narrator of Enrico Ruggeri, which traces the extraordinary career of one of the greatest groups in the history of music. Enriched with costumes, sets and video projections with a high emotional content. To listen and re-sing great hits and goodies for a true connoisseur. A concert to revive the legend of Freddie Mercury, who still today, almost thirty years after his death, is remembered as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, show man in history.
This is the formula of QueenMania, a tribute band born in 2006 from the common passion of four formidable musicians for the "Queen".
In March 2007 QueenMania took their show beyond the Alps, and embarked on their unstoppable “European Tour”, playing, with huge acclaim from audiences and critics, in England, Holland, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Hungary, Belgium. The consecration of this magical moment comes with the participation of the group at the “ 23rd Official Queen Fan Club UK Convention 2008 ” in England. On this occasion QueenMania share the stage and backstage with important musicians and characters from the Queen's “ Royal Family ”, such as Spike Edney, Jamie Moses, Peter Freestone, Jacky Smith, Jeff Scott Soto, Patti Russo.
These events allowed QueenMania to become the first Italian tribute to play in England. In this and other European countries (especially the Netherlands and Germany) the group enjoys a certain following and is welcomed as “ The European number one tribute to Queen ”.
QueenMania boast the collaboration of leading artists of the Italian and international music scene who, always with enthusiasm, participate in their concerts such as Enrico Ruggeri, real "Godfather" of the group, Katia Ricciarelli, Tullio De Piscopo, Maurizio Solieri (Vasco Rossi , Steve Rogers Band, etc), Stef Burns (Vasco Rossi, Alice Cooper), Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil), Irene Fornaciari, Luigi Schiavone (E. Ruggeri), Davide “Cesareo” Civaschi (Elio e le Storie Tese), Clara Moroni (Vasco Rossi), Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth, New Trolls), Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire), GL Perotti (Extrema), Andrea Mirò, Marco Guerzoni and Matteo Setti (Notre Dame de Paris), etc ...
The group makes use of the presence of Sonny Ensabella, a performer of great skill and experience, who for the occasion plays the role of a revived Freddie Mercury with impressive results, such is the physical and, above all, vocal similarity with the original. At his side amazing musicians who boast prestigious collaborations within the Italian and European music scene (Ligabue, Vasco Rossi, Anna Oxa, Marco Masini, Enrico Ruggeri, Exilia, Mark Harris, Glenn Hughes ...), such as Simone Fortuna (drums and voice . He took over the band in January 2017 in place of Andrea Ge), Tiziano Giampieri (guitar and voice. He took over in place of Sandro Sanchini in 2009) and Fabrizio Palermo (bass and voice), one of the most esteemed session players in Italy and historical member of the band of Enrico Ruggeri.
On January 30, 2009 " All in " was released, the new triple cd by Enrico Ruggeri, in which QueenMania are present with 3 songs, " Dear friends ", " Lily of the Valley " and " The great pretender ", recorded live at the Alcatraz in Milan on November 24, 2007 during the Freddie tribute evening, in which Enrico was their most welcome guest.
In April 2010 the compilation " Hit Mania Champions " was released where QueenMania are present with the song " Somebody to love " recorded live at Alcatraz in Milan.
In September of the same year, Fabrizio Palermo took part, as a vocal coach alongside Enrico Ruggeri, in the fourth edition of the talent show "X Factor", broadcast on Rai Due.
In 2013 he began his collaboration with an opera legend, Katia Ricciarelli, with whom they made their debut at the Alcatraz in Milan in front of 4000 people, on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of Freddie's death… a triumph.
Queenmania are constantly on tour in the most important big clubs, theaters and open air in Italy and Europe. In March 2019, the theatrical tour of their new show entitled “ Queenmania Rhapsody ” also started, directed by Daniele Sala, produced by Charlotte Spettacoli. An exciting journey into music with original narrations and projections, which retrace the history of Freddie and Queen, where obviously a cameo by Katia Ricciarelli could not miss to embellish the show.
