The general public has learned to know Claudio Batta in the character of Chieftain "the enigmist" by Zelig and as the protagonist of the sit-com "Belli Dentro" set in prison, with the cell chief character Ciccio.
Claudio was born from the theater: he staged works of various kinds between 1990 and 1993 with the company "Tempi Moderni", from Agatha Christie to Anton Cechov, from Michael Frayn to Georges Feydeau. He attended training courses and seminars, studying with Maria Consagra, Ambra D'Amico, Riccardo Piferi. In 1989 he took part in the television sit-com "Giorni d'estate" (Italy 1).
In the early 90s, in addition to interpreting numerous commercials, a large audience followed him on the radio from 1990 to 1997 where many of his characters are outlined within the successful programs of RTL102.5 and Radio105.
In 1999 he was part of NBC (Natural Born Comedians), Zelig's first theatrical laboratory. In the same year he leads "Zelig countdown" with Mr. Forest.
From 2000 to 2006 he took part in six editions of "Zelig circus" in prime time, participating in numerous live television specials.
Claudio Batta wrote two books: "La nimmistica" (Kowalski Editore 2003) and "Uttobene uttobene" (Kowalski Editori 2004) selling a total of more than 200,000 copies. Among his various editorial collaborations he has written short humorous stories on the agendas of Smemoranda and Comix. She is testimonial of the Italian Publishers Association for the European reading promotion project.
From 2003 to 2007 he starred in four editions of the sit-com "Belli Dentro".
In 2005 he is on theatrical tour with "Ora Batta!" directed by Alessandro Benvenuti.
In the same year he takes part in the film "Tutti all'Attacco" with M. Ceccherini, directed by Lorenzo Vignolo. In 2008 he took part in the latest work by S. Mondaini and R. Vianello "Crocera Vianello", a film for TV. In 2010 he was part of the cast of "Voglia di fresh air" hosted by Carlo Conti on Rai 1. In 2011 he is on tour with his new theatrical show "Agrodolce" written with Riccardo Piferi who also signs the direction.
He is currently engaged in the theatrical tour with his new monologue "Since I have a family, I'm single" by Riccardo Piferi and Claudio Batta, directed by Riccardo Piferi, debuted in March 2015.
Since June 2015 the web-series "La cresta dell'onda" has been online, featuring Claudio Batta as interpreter together with Rocco Ciarmoli. He is artistic director of the "Sacra Famiglia" theater in Cesano Boscone and together with other actors he founded the collective Teatro Comico Civile with which he supports political and social initiatives.
